    Value-added Selling

There are a lot of competition in the market. Every time you turn around, there's another product out on the market just like yours. You need to add more value to your selling, which the phrase value-added selling is all about. It means more than simply focusing on the value of your product or service. It also refers to the value that you personally bring to the sale. I believe this extra personal touch goes a long way in closing a deal.

What would be some of your examples to 'value added selling'? I realize I bring a pretty face to the deal on top of my professional training, years of experience and top quality products and equipment but my competitors bring those same traits to the table as well, sans the pretty face. So with everyone playing on a even field, how other than better service, cheaper prices or quicker turn-around time can I add value to my selling?

I have started a blog that is geared toward my customers. My customers are owners of nightlife venues so I made up a blog to give them tips and ideas on industry news and marketing/sales strategies. I will also be incorporating a monthly newsletter with the same ideas was well as any give them first dibs on any promotions I may be having.

These are great ways to make your clients feel recognized and as if they are getting more for their money than the competition. Also, this is great marketing for you to stick in their heads when its time to do business again.

These aren't really things that you put on the table when selling, so you'll want to gradually make it appear on your brochures, business cards, and everywhere else. I have my blog for the biz web address on the back of my business cards.

    Good luck!

One example of value added selling is your personal service to them, giving additional discounts or giving out of freebies or offering helpful tips every now and then, can make your clients feel more special. Building relationships with your clients would be a great way to help maintain sales. Give value, not just to the products or services you are offering, but also to the relationship you are building with your clients. Always be available to them when they have questions or problem regarding your product or service.

In my business, I have to concentrate more to relationship selling. But I love using value selling whenever I get the chance. It makes closing a sale much, much easier in the grand scheme of things.

Relationship selling is really a good way of maintaining customers. Do not think much about the sale, because potential customers will feel it if you keep on pushing just to make a sale. Be casual and friendly. The sales will come if they sense your genuine offer.
