Trouble finding a different way to advertise

I recently started a magic the gathering business called Tap N' Atk Games. I have been having trouble finding a way to differentiate my business from the competitors (Starcitygames.com, TCGPlayer.com , magicthegathering.com). They all seem to use the same forms of Advertising with just photoshopping pictures of magic cards, and then posting on forums and their websites (the main source).
Our whole mantra is "for the players", as we offer higher payouts at our events % wise (but are still smaller due to us being new and smaller) and also our card prices are slightly cheaper to make the "good" cards more accessible. But due to my lack of a huge budget to put into marketing I've been struggling with finding new or different ways to get the word out there.

    I have done:
    • online forums
    • calendar website
    • Radio E-mail listing
    • Facebook

I know this is such a niche market that it may be hard to help but any advise would be great.

    Thank you in advance!

You can also try Twitter and social bookmarking. Article and blog marketing is also a great idea.

Articles is definitely something we are looking into. I completely forgot about Twitter thank you. I really don't understand what social bookmarking is? I tried looking it up and I'm just kind of confused by it.

Twitter is definitely a good way to go. I have just over 40,000 followers on multiple accounts all related to my company. Every time I put new content (articles, changes, general information, etc.) I always tweet them. In doing so on a consistent level I'm able to increase ranking, traffic, and buzz. Twitter also allows you to gain valuable viral marketing ability through re-tweets, tweet searches, and RSS feeds.

    Good luck, hope this helps.

Something you may want to consider specifically for your business as well is doing a bit of FB work. There are countless games on FB that I'm sure several people on this forum are checking, even right now (or just thought about them as they read this). One of the most common groups for these are the Add Me groups where people add tons of other people as friends simply to get more gifts, bonuses, freebees, etc. If you went ape and created an FB account and added every single perosn on FBs top 100 games, you would literally max out. You could then start your own group and invite all your friends and post on those forums for your add me group. Once that was self propagating, start posting info to your site and you will literally be marketing to your target demographic in a way that won't cost you 45 cents a click.
