RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. A very good way to recieve additional traffic but usually over looked. You add an RSS Feed on your site and submit it to RSS Directories. From there people signup for your feeds to read your content. I have it on my site with great results.
Newsletter Marketing is when an email/Newsletter is sent out to the members of a site. If I had a clothes site, I could put your ad in it when I sent out an email/Newsletter to my members. Usually sent out on a monthly basis.

If you want some great examples of how to market clothes with an email newsletter campaign, go to some of your favorite stores/designers and sign up for their email alerts. Most will have a place to sign up for special deals, or some kind of club. Then watch what they send you. They spend millions of dollars every year figuring out what works - I'm willing to bet that if you receive it, it is worth your while to emulate (NOT copy...)
