Questions for Business Owners and/or Advertisers

Whether your a local gym or a international corporation, advertising and marketing are OBVIOUSLY important factors you take into consideration when running your business.

So my questions are for those who own a business or have experience in the marketing department of a business, large or small. (would love the view points from all sizes!)

    1. What do you look for when choosing a place to advertise?
    2. Where do you currently advertise, or what TYPE of media do you advertise with?
    3. What have been your successes and what have not worked out?
    4. How do you measure the results of a campaign?
    5. What kind of budget do you work with and what do you look to expect out of that budget?
    6. What are your thoughts on Facebook advertising?

I'm sure I will have more soon!

On a more curious note amongst entreprenurs and business owners, what are your thoughts on Groupon and other similar sites?

I ask that because hidden amongst the positive reviews and hype, there's reports from small businesses, especially restaurants, that are losing money on the hopes of finding repeat customers whilst Groupon makes the $$$. If they offer a $80 certificate for $40, but half of that goes to Groupon, then the business is losing 75% not 50% per certificate.

Many questions, would love any feedback or response. Please feel free to PM me, respond in this thread or email me.

    Thanks.

    Richard

I am not advertising on Facebook, adsense and similar. What I am doing is to optimize and position my website - and that's my only effort to advertise. It takes time and is much more expensive than a standard advertising in facebook or adsense - but it's results lasts for a long time.
