Question involving a fairly new company that needs some help

Hey guys, I'm new here but I wanted to get your opinions on something. I am part of a company that is a little over 1 year old and we're starting to hit a snag. Basically this company kind of has the look and feel of an affiliate marketing site except there is no get rich quick, it is more of an investment type company where you will see the big returns in the future rather than right away. This type of idea does not sit well with a lot of "network marketers" because they want the dream of "put $100 in and in 1 month I will make $10,000" to come true and unfortunately...Unless you're some sort of guru that is not going to happen. The issue at hand is I am part of a leadership group, along with around 15 others, and the owner has come to us because we are having some issues. The main issue is we are not doing a good job of bringing new, active members into the company and this is really hurting an investor deal that was in place. Our leadership group as a whole is very good at promoting to the affiliate marketing/network marketing crowd because that is where a lot of our previous success lies but like I said before...This company seems to not appeal to that sort of crowd because they do not see down the road and how they can earn long-term. So now we are all questioning ourselves as to what sort of crowd we should go after. Clearly the marketing crowd is not working, but do we give up on them altogether? Should we go after HYIP people? Do we go after people like yourselves that are entrepreneurs?

I joined this forum because after reading some threads and posts, it appeared to me like there were a lot of very smart and aspiring entrepreneurs here that could really help.

You have quite the dilemma on your hands. I can see why you would struggle with it. I have been in the internet marketing niche for quite some time and I can tell you that people in this niche do not like to wait for results. Everyone wants instant results with as little work as humanly possible.

My advice would be to quit targeting those people online. You would fail if you targeted people who have already been exposed to the hype of instant millions online. Instead, you should seek to communicate with opportunity seekers using offline methods. The method that comes to mind is direct mail. Buy a list of physical addresses for people interested in business opportunities. Send them a series of direct mail pieces to entice them into joining your system.

Another possible offline method would be to create a toll free number with a recorded message on it. You advertise that toll free number in the classified advertising of small newspapers and weekly pennysavers across the USA. Attn: Moms with young kids - Make $300 per week from home.. Free recorded message tells you how.

Use that recorded message to tell them about a couple testimonials of people who have succeeded with your system. Ask them to leave their name and address to receive an information packet in the mail. Then send them your direct mail marketing whenever someone responds.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I agree that people do not like to wait for results. For some reason there are a lot of people out there looking for a legit online business, yet they do not want to put the time and effort into actually building that business. I feel like the so called "guru's" ruin it for everyone. These people hear about these guru's building massive teams with minimal effort and they think they can do the same without the proper training and know how. Once they get frustrated that they are not making money right away they quit and try some other program. What's great about this company that I am in is you absolutely do not need referrals. They help you earn but they are not needed. Your success is completely up to how much time you invest in working this business. Oh well, no worries. Those of us that see the big picture will reap the rewards in the future.
