    Producing an eBook

    Hello,

Don't know if this is posted in the right place but I am about 90% done with an ebook and it is in plain text and I need to format it so that it looks like a professional ebook.

Any tools or tips you recommend for formatting or producing an ebook?

How about using the Adobe inDesign software or using Amazons book publishing service. Try to google designing an ebook or search youtube for tutorials.

I would not worry about making you first eBook too fancy/professional just yet. You will find that the many different publishers for Ebooks require all types of formatting so for ebooks it is actually best to keep it simple until you get more experience. Or find the publishers you like the best and then format accordingly.

I would publish it on places like:

    -Amazon/kindle
    -Barnes + Noble/PubIt
    -Google Ebooks
    -Kobo
    -iBookstore
    -Alibris

    etc. etc.

Once you start to learn about ebook requirements you can tailor future books to those specifications. You can always come out with a revised/2nd edition later as well that looks more professional once you get the hang of things.

One of the best ways to learn about making your eBook more professional is to study some of the top sellers or ones that you have enjoyed. Looking at popular examples already on the market should give you the exact information you are looking for.
