    Need help naming a hotel

So what makes a good name?

I am trying to name a hotel, but it feels like all good names are taken. And this is reeeally difficult.
So to give you a little info on the hotel, it's a new boutique hotel chain in Asia.
The interiors are very modern, edgy and well-designed.

Do you have any ideas of what to name a hotel? Would really appreciate any ideas or leads. =)

Thank you for your ideas Deemee.
I like your trail of thoughts. Running along the line of "new thinking"
But it seems that Hotel Nouveau, Hotel Absolute, Club Hotel are all taken by some existing hotels around the world.
I'm not sure if there'll be any trademark issues.

Hi Sorry about that i didnt know they were off of the top of my head. Didnt mean to include word hotel as that can / not necessarily sound a bit dated

yes it could be tricky if others have trademarks in the same sector eg hotels - it is ok usually if in a different sector so if yiy saw a word being used in for example the car industry you should be able to use it in the hotel industry
was trying to come up with something like google or bebo / eg quirky words but also contemporary and relevant but off top off my head came up with those

Will think of things as i go about my work,

No, I didn't mean that. I really appreciate your sharing. =)
& I like the way you're approaching this. Some interesting quirky words which gives it a ting and story.
Google is definitely a very good name, so different, yet related to the search engine, easy to remember and easy to pronounce.

    Smile another go at naming

    Hi had another thought

    how about

    boho short for boutique hotel

it also is a term for bohemian which while not strictly applying to trendy state of art cutting edge does apply to those living their own free lifestyle so could be a loose link have even done you a logo see what you think mess around with colours ( if you do not know how let me know will do more)
feel free to use it (if you can legally e.g no more hotels using it) even stuck you a little TM which shows you intend this to be your trademark you can use this without registering (though it is a good idea to register if you can afford it) you cannot use the R in a circle this is only for trademarks that have been passed as registered

I tried to paste both an url to using the TM and also i have done you a logo but i have to have done ten posts to be able to use attachments and i am new to this forum
it looks good and i have done it for free. If you like the name respond to the post and when i have passed my 10 posts and can attach the image i will i could give you an email address but i do not know if this is not permitted yet

    let me know deeemee

Using a persons last name seems to be typical for hotels

Maybe think of a name related to something the local area is known for like a flower or an animal

Also maybe words associated with getting away or vacation:
I personally like... Serenity- I'm not sure if it is taken but it might be a good start

I typically use a thesaurus to look up naming ideas. Microsoft Word is pretty good, but I'm sure you can find other thesaurus's easily online as well.

I would normally to do some research with the names using common terms or names used in our location (City or Country).
Write them down and would try to find thesaurus for those words.

When you do select a name, make sure you do some research into how the name translates into the foreign languages
where the hotel will be located to make sure that the name is not offensive.
    Good Luck
