    Good question,

You can have the best business in the world, but without a proper marketing strategy, it is worthless. Having been in traditional and online businesses for years, I have researched every medium ever created, and have seen it all. It comes down to one thing, incentives, you have to offer free incentives which I have found works better than anything else. Offer the same incentives to those who refer others to your business, cultivate referrals always works for any business. You have to give to receive in a collapsed economy like this for everyone is looking for the best deals and value in a recession.

Always target your market. In the case of junk businesses, target the poor people who are facing foreclosures, being evicted, these people always have tons of junk to dispose of given most have to move into smaller homes or apartments, so pull up a list of pending foreclosures which there are millions of these days. Promote through real estate agents and brokers, offer an incentive for referrals, free pick up of a few items, etc. as a freebie. When real estate people come across clients who have junk to get rid of, they will surely refer you and you can even offer free vouchers, one free pick up for each referral as example. The point is, you have to get people talking about your business, and offering an incentive to refer others is the best way to start any new business.

    Success to all,

Without a doubt, the best way to market any business like this is search engine marketing. Junk removal is such a localized business market that this type of marketing is critical to success, and has been the saving grace for my business. Just make sure you go to someone who knows what their doing and has a good foothold in the local community. Let me know if you need a recommendation.

    Hello friends,
it looks like you have everything covered but you may also want to get a specific phone number and virtual service they will give you a professional appearance when called. I use ring central you can also use grasshopper these have all the features that a large company would use such as music on hold also the have a prompt when someone calls telling them who they have reached and they will connect you, you can forward the number to your cell phone and it will text or email you when you miss a call " i suggest never miss a call " The one thing that can ruin all of your efforts and i see it time and time again is small businesses such as yours do not answer the call when someone needs your service. I hope this helps and good luck if you have any questions give me a call 443-798-2515

The advice I would give is be willing to not only do the manual labor associated with junk removal, but you will also will have to work in your "off time" to take care of the necessary paperwork and bookkeeping to keep your business legitimate. For the first couple years, even though you may keep hours for your customers, you will always be on the clock and no more so than when you are marketing your biz! Good luck!

In terms of marketing, it can appear like a never ending tunnel, but start small and work your local small market stuff and the rest will come with time. Take care of those around you first!
