    Marketing and selling tips

I see a lot of business people fail simply because they do not know how to sell. I am one of those people who is very shy in approaching other people. I lack self confidence. I would rather do the background work. What are the simple but effective way of selling?

How about developing some strategies to get people to BUY from you?

Great question..sales is a skill. There isn't really a simple way to do it, but there are effective methods.
If you want a quick answer, try the SPIN approach....but there is more to it.
Sales is what's called a functional level strategy. It doesn't work if your generic level strategy is out of whack..for example..if you're trying to position your venture as the lowest cost provider in the market, when in actuality you're not...then you're gonna have a hard time finding a sales approach that works. If your product is uncompetitive, sales skills will hardly help you.

Essentially, look...sales is a job. If you don't wanna do it, don't do entrepreneurship.
That said, once you make a couple of sales, you'll normally get hooked
I've seen countless shy people transform in their predisposition once the commission cheque clears.

One thing that helped me when I started my first business was to shift my paradigm - to not think about it as "selling", but instead as how I could be the answer to this person's problem. I wasn't focused on making the sale, I was focused on how I could serve this person's needs and then the sale came naturally. There is a well known quote in sales "Focus on the Mission not the Commission"

If you really feel uncomfortable with selling since you would prefer to be in the background, hire an independent contractor salesperson and pay them a commission.

Depending on what your business is, there are plenty of people out there that are looking to make extra income without 100% dedication (they can work at their own pace). This way you can take care of everything after the sale and everything in between.

Once you see this person in action and how many sales they are making, you'll want to learn and gain the confidence to sell it yourself to save on paying them the commission. Or, work on expanding your business and let the salesperson/people take care of bringing in the revenue.

As a business owner you will have to eventually delegate but I do recommend learning as much as you can within each position so you know how high the expectations need to be.

    Good luck with everything!

Hi, rightly said by sales is a skill, it is an art, you need to have a sales aptitude, an extrovert kind of personality, who loves interacting with people can do the job better. if you are an introvert , shy kind of person, doesn't matter, It doesn't mean that you cannot improve yourself or you cannot develop your sales skills, when you already have industry experience, go for an executive MBA program. It really helps, the b-school guys will polish and sharpen your communication skills and you can increase your confidence level and you can fly high. believe me, I have seen many of my batch mates becoming great communicators at the end of our MBA program. Good luck.

One of the best ways to sell yourself and your company is through a press release.

MyPRGuide is a company will take well-written press releases and put them directly into the hands of those you need your company’s latest news to reach!

It’s a really simple process. All you do is go to myprguide.com and fill out a form to tell them about the news you’d like to announce and select the distribution package you want.

A team of professional practitioners will write your press release according to your standards. They will be in touch with you within 5 business days to go over any edits you may have, just to make sure you’re completely satisfied.

After your approval, they distribute it and put it in the hands of those you need to reach!

What’s even better….they just lowered their prices, so writing and distributing ranges from $99 to $199 depending on your distribution choice.

And that’s not all!!! Throughout the month of June, MyPRGuide is giving away two free press releases each week! One will be to a non-profit and the other will be to any type of business. You can find all the information at myprguide.com/promo.html. What could it hurt to try to win a free press release!?

I promise you won’t be disappointed with the results. Check out the site and follow them on Twitter and Facebook!

If you have any questions at all about this or any PR questions, just reply back.

most business owners try to convince people to want and buy their product.
Instead, find out their needs. the problem that causes them pain and want to get rid of.
Find the solution and just offer it to them. You're positioning yourself that you don't need them but they need YOU.
You'll feel alot more comfortable. if one rejects you, you know there are other people who needs it.

Sales is all about passion and persistence. If you truly believe in your product you get amped to talk about it. Some people enjoy the art of selling, but that's not you. You should however love talking about your product and what makes it spectacular. Also don't forget to actually listen to your customer or potential customer. You need to find out what their needs are and then figure out how your product can fill those needs. The people you are selling to probably like to talk about their product too, so let them. But make sure to LISTEN.

This is the crux. If you can meet the other person's need, then growth is immense and you will grow faster. Silently, you are selling too. I liked this perfect writing.

This is a good mission statement. This is a good way to gain the trust of the customers. More focus on the needs of the customer rather than your need to sell.
