    Low cost Marketing Ideas

    Hey

So I'm starting up a business, but I need some low cost marketing ideas, my business is web based.

I was thinking that utilizing social meadia is going to be key to low cost advertising, but what are some other ideas, both online and offline?

    Thanks!

traditional media still works...really well. Especially at a local level. Everyone who matters still uses it. Even Google and Facebook use SOME traditional media at times.

Traditional media is too expensive when buying ads. If you are local business for local niche, the best is still flyers in right places.

People LOVE good information. Business product and services generally solve a problem. Any research you have describing the problem that your business solves might prove to be viable content marketing on the social Web. That same research might make an effective flyer for your local customers.

We might be able to offer up more targeted solutions for you if you explain a bit about the type of web business you're trying to market. Not all marketing works the same for each type of business.
Do something you're passionate about. It makes a world of difference to your success.

You can start off with referral marketing to maximize word of mouth potential. You can do this by promoting and rewarding customers that bring in new customers.

    Hey Envouge,

With a little more info about you business we could help out even more. But with what you said I would say start finding people talking about what your business will do online and jump on in. Build a little brand awareness one post at a time.

An online business can still advertise locally if you think your target market is in the area and fliers are a great way to do this. Just make sure your fliers stick out from the competition. Maybe a flier in the shape of a computer, or an unusual color. Word of mouth is still one of the most powerful marketing tools around, you just need to give them something to talk about!

    Hope this helps!

A well targeted print campaign can work. BUT only if you know your market. You can even use it to promote a website. Take movie posters for instance. The Battle: Los Angeles series of posters has nothing much on them except an image and a website. On a smaller scale, flyers and brochures can also be effective. You sometimes have to spend a little to make a lot. That's the reality of it.

    Hi,

I think location based marketing is the latest social media tool that used to engage your customers in conversation and continue to building brand. As we know many of the small businesses do not have lot of money therefore are completely dependent upon visibility. This is one of the best low cost marketing tool today

    Good Luck

    Thanks

Low cost or no cost ideas include:

    - Presenting at a local library.
    - Approaching a local community college to present (i.e. "How to Grow Sales From a Web Site")
    - Register your business as a vendor in your area with your town for local government opportunities (usually costs nothing)
    - Visit a local office supply store, which usually has a business expo
    - Volunteer your services for a nonprofit organization and then issue a press release about your good deed

Social media is a great idea. Offline traditional media still works though it can be costly. Providing something free or some incentive to consumers is usually a good way to stir up traffic as well. Good luck.

Also, an inexpensive press release is a good idea as well. Some searching online can help you find a good press release writer for under $50/release or you could write it yourself. Then just distribute.
