Don't run white text on a black background... it's really hard to read and your visitors won't read it. Run black text on white or off-white only. That's what people are used to reading. Once you've established a visitors-to-sales ratio for a standard black-on-white layout you can start testing other color schemes and try to beat it (you won't).

Your site at present is just awful. People might click on banners and adsense just to get away though - which is a crappy revenue model but some folks use it. If you care about building a following go with a standard, easy-on-the-eyes layout and collect emails to build your own list.
