Well barbara, you couldnt be further from the real answer. Organic SEO is still the leader when it comes to driving targeted traffic. Especially to reach that all infamous 1000+ visitors everyday. Its free to do, brings tons of back links, and will raise your page rank over time. The only downfall is, its very time consuming. Interesting post dfveteran,Do you have suggestions for ways to find the high ranking blogs/forums with do follow links.And as I see,the directories arent that effective nowadays for traffic or SEO.Dont you think so?

I do agree that the methods you list work, but it's sort of like killing a fly with a steamroller.

Instead, I suggest leveraging your time... I find you can write a blog post (for example) and just one backlink to your post is all you need.

So instead of spending hours on backlinking, I find writing blog content (475 words up to 1,100) is the way to go.

When you write a blog post the right way, you're going to have visitors RUSHING to link to your site.

Organic SEO and social media web sites. My web site averages 1000 unique visitors per day now. The highest was 5000 in one day. It takes time though, it has taken me almost two years to get to this point.

Rarely do people mention videos as a great way to drive traffic. This is becoming the wave of the future.

Youtube and Google are best friends so there is tons of power to be leveraged there.

If you get a video to go viral the traffic generated can even be overwhelming.
