Question How to contact companies for service

    Hi,

My name is NandanK. I am the co-founder of a new entrepreneurial company named Summiit. We lanunched the company with the intention to tap the growing need for documentation services in the IT industry. Today, IT industry requires documentation services in every sphere right from content management of coroparate website to providing presentation and guides to its clients to keep them better informed on their product and the services they provide.

We have all the expertise to hand any type of documentation request, but the one thing I am not able to figure out is what would be the best approach that I can take so that I not only can reach but also effectively convey the companies on the services we provide. I would eagerly look forward to your valuable advise and insight.

    Regards,
    NandanK

I cant say for sure what you should do to approach them, but you should convey your vision to your potential clients. Things to include would be:

    Why are you doing this?
What is the value for them?
    Why they should choose you?

In the beginning, keep very accurate notes about what you say and how people respond and expect to fail your first several times. It is better to fail and learn then to luckily succeed.

What makes you different from other competitors and who are you competitors?
Will you offer a free trial so people can experience first hand what you are doing for them?

    Have a similar issue

I have a large list of Businesses that use the other shopping guides. Most have no email addresses since they are local businesses and have no website. However I wrote own their physical mailing addresses. I want to get their business really bad, and it would be worth quite a bit.
My strategy In mind was as follows.
    1. Send out personal e-mails - one a t a time to each email adresses i do have,
    2. hopefully revenue from that can pay for postcards to be sent to the other businesses by regular mail or perhaps small envelopes with business cards in them, business cards would be way cheaper.
I made a giant mailing list a month ago but have backed off on trying it cause of worries about mailing laws or something. Trying to use the competitors adsheet is more expensive and risky.

Best options to do in this situation is creat a social media network eg twitter, facebook, yelp accounts - get yourself a good online presence. Produce presentations with information about your company, what it does and how you can help your clients - send out e-mail shots or if they don't have e-mails distirbute paper made A5 sized advertisements through their doors or go into their premises for quick face to face chat and leave your businees card or details.

There are many ways to communicate your services to companies, you just need to use the tools the web and you computer provides wisely.

There are loads of companies that have specific business pages on social networking sites rum by marketing teams who you can directly contact. Its not illegal to send flyers through the mail or taking your business card into companies, this is how people build working relationships. Get yourself setup with a linkedin account, you can connect with other professionas and corporate clients on their as its built purely for business professionals. You could even put advertisements in your loca paper or industry specific magazines depending on your budget.

Thank you all for penning your ideas. I am very greatful to you, especially TechHawkz. But you know, we need to remember one thing, Rome was not built in a day. I have started off and trying to reach as many people as I can. As of now, nothing fruitful has come, but at least two enquires came. For a company, that has started its existence just virtually, this is great. thank you one and all for your info.
