PR does not carry the Kudos it did a few years back,what you need is quality visitors to your site,so if you build up quality backlinks with higher PR sites that are in your niche and also add new content you will see a rise in not only your PR but the main one is to get all your major keywords as high as you can in google search as the keywords are the main one that gets you visitors and this inturn earns you the revenue.

Exactly. Backlinks, Backlinks, and backlinks. Also content, content, content. Keeep your website updated as much as possible. One of the most effective ways to add content is to add a blog to your website and add content that way. Then write articles on high ranking websites, post on forums like this one, and post in places that will reuse the content on your website over and over again. Organic SEO is still the best way to raise page rank. Even though page rank doesnt mean squat nowadays, at least you know how to raise it now.

Add meta tags to your pages and make sure they accurately describe your content. Also be sure to update your content as often as possible.

I happily achieved Google Pagerank (s) today as if Google spilled it all over my site and forgot to clean up - oh don't worry Google, i think just like you and will continue to implement what i have been implementing, which i also happily share on my blog.

What are you talking about. you are updating the PR. I think PR will be updated by Google.

There are a number of factors that help your Google rankings.

Page rank is just one of the 200 + factors taken into consideration by the Google algorithm.Personally I dont think it should be something you should work.The marketing should be holistic to place your website before people looking for the product/services you are offering - it can be through topical backlinks, backlinks from relevant forums,blogs, high quality articles and press releases.Make sure you offer some thing unique and people will definetely like your website.Targeted traffic is the best way to start.It takes time for the traffic to flow,but once it does,its ON,provided your offering is best in the class.
