Google has recently released its new project with the name Google +.
For many days this thought of calling it as a project instead of a product bugged me. Why do everybody refers Google plus as a project and not as a simple product or sevice?
The answer is that google is still working on adding more features to it and be more experimental, they don’t want people to think of this as the final product, but as a constantly-evolving entity that permeates every corner of this big Google empire.
Google will be adding and updating the project with more number of functionalities.
With the whole G.plus buzz around I could'nt have waited to watch the new talk of the town and try its features by myself.
I really dont think that Google + is the sole solution to facebook.
Mostly refered to as Facebook killer, I really did not find it to be worth it.Almost every feature from "Circles" to "Streams" has a counterpart feature in Facebook.
Google+ looks like facebook except the white backgroud colour. Google+ has a simple design with lots of white space. Overall the looks are simple and only a few people might find is boring design.
Only features that I personally adored in Google + are:
Google+ Hangouts: Hangouts is one of the more innovative concepts of Google+, and it’s a cool approach to getting users to accept group video chat. The camera switching feature (it changes who’s on camera based on who’s talking) is far superior to having multiple video feeds open at the same time. This is what I call a killer feature
Google+ Circles: Circles is well-implemented. It’s far easier than creating a Twitter List or a Facebook Friend List. The drag-and-drop functionality is a welcome addition, and the cute animations that appear when you perform actions give the product personality.
Apart from thses two features I think I really did not like te whole idea behind the project. Even the Google+profiles are similar to the Google profiles. I did not find anything new in it.
Overall I dont call it Facebook killer. It needs alot more than this to even stand in the competition.
