Generating Massive Traffic

Hi guys

At the start of the new year I plan on launching a new site. The biggest aim will be to create a website to generate as much traffic as possible

I was wondering what you thought the best of website you think would be to generate the highest amount of traffic:

Ie, Video streaming site, news streaming site, etc

You need to think about this from the bottom up

If you want to build a successful site that gets a lot of traffic - provide a valuable service or solve a problem

Traffic doesn't come out of thin air - you have to think strategically about how you're going to get traffic - what are you going to have to do to get one regular user? How about 5 regular users? 50? 100? and so on

Success of video streaming sites and news streaming sites lies on the quality of content that you have on the site. Also, your site's ability to publish the latest news or updates on the most current and breaking issue will be the key to getting traffic as people will be searching for them a lot on search engines when it happens.

Without a doubt, if a site is depending on it's content, optimizing your site with search engine optimization will be crucial as content attracts search engine traffic.

If it is a video streaming site, you can always post selected videos or snippets of your hot videos to top video sharing sites out there like Youtube, etc.

As for news sites featuring mostly text, you need to have a presence in online communities that care about the news, such as forums or social networking platforms like Facebook or Twitter.

1. submit quality posts or articles to site like ezinearticles.com and put up your web link there.
2. use google adwords to promote your site.
3. post a comment to other blogs... not spamming

Free stuff sites generate alot of traffic to ...

If you have got good video content, you should post them on youtube
to get tons of traffic back to your own site.

By posting videos consistently on youtube, you should be getting
some royal followers who will help you to get even more traffic.

Not to forget that your video on youtube could also be embedded by
other blog or websites, thus giving you another source of huge

Are you using this traffic to simply build a list, use google ads, click bank products. Targeting a particular niche.

or are you planning on building such an authority site that you will create revenue through ad space?

Getting the traffic is only part of the equation. Converting the traffic and monetizing are different aspects.

Copy writing becomes a huge factor as well as your USP.

It all comes back to providing something useful.It doesn't matter how many followers or friends, or even how clever your marketing is if you're just not bringing something worthwhile to the table.

With that said and assuming you are bringing some useful content to the table, if my goal was high quality/converting traffic, I would aim at a small niche and work on gaining a large control of that niche, and expand into multiple niches, then tie them all together (if this is a video-based site) into a parent site down the road when all of the initial sites had decent traffic value.

This allows you to essentially recyle your users as they move from your subdomain based niches.

Rereading this post I'm not sure I conveyed this in a way that will be easily digested, but I'm sure some people will get it :P

I agree with Mr. Wayne. To generate traffic to your site, use keywords appropriately. Read on the internet some useful tips in using SEO. If your site is on video streaming, create content that is applicable to your business and this is where optimization comes in. Also, try submitting your sites to popular directories.
