First you should optimize your website for Search Engines. A lot of traffic comes from search engines, that's why it is important to hit the first pages of Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. High rankings will bring you relevant traffic to your site.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques are not difficult to implement. Just search for an SEO guide and here you go. Good luck!

I'm not sure what you are selling, so it's hard to give specific advice...

    I will say this, however.

Think like your market. Where do I go to find what I am looking to purchase? Where do I find information? What motivates me?

If you provide more details, I'd be happy to help some more!

Probably the best way to expand your audience is to start a blog about your topic. Then push it out to others via social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and by answering questions at sites frequented by your audience (as I'm doing here) and commenting on other blogs in your niche.

If you use the advice from Anca, BBlackwood and me... You'll do just fine! haha

Another interesting exercise is dissecting your competitor's strategies. You can learn a lot by watching what works/ does not work.
