Just wanted to raise awareness with knowledge possessed from experience of different people from using Facebook to market their website/offline business on Facebook.

What are the tricks of the trade to build up traffic into your website using Facebook?
Likewise, is it really worth the investment?
What is the benefit?

I think it is worth it if you have some disposable income to spend on marketing.

Remember, social media marketing is a lot different from traditional marketing. You are not trying to sell your products or services from Facebook as much as you are trying to engage them in conversation. If they buy, great! but that's that really the end purpose.

In order to really make it work, I think you have to be spending money on ads. All marketing costs money, and Facebook can be really cheap if you do it correctly.
