    Elevator Advertising

I was wondering if anyone could give me more information on Elevator Advertising. I got the idea from here Business Ideas - Elevator Advertising and it seems like a good business to do since I am still in school and cant run a business full time. I am just wondering if anyone has any information ie how much it would cost to obtain an elevator advertising spot, where should I go to look to purchase, how much should I charge for the spot once it is obtain. I basically need to know everything and have done my research but haven't come up with many answers. So if anyone knows anything about this please just spill it all out, thanks!

Hmmmn, I've heard about elevator marketing, basically anything that involves a captive audience. Think about it, if you put up advertising materials in elevators, you basically have the chance to show your ad to the people in the WHOLE office for at least 30 seconds. At different times of the day. This term applies to other areas where you basically have an idle audience: elevators, taxi cabs, buses, lamp posts near areas where heavy traffic is.

So basically, you put up a sticker or brochures into these areas. It could also be a leaflet, a poster and others.

I advised a company that used elevator advertising. The big challenge was widening the competitive moat. You're at risk of having another company enter the market. No intellectual property or barriers to entry.

    CHeers!

Is this what elevator marketing means? Putting up signs, posters or promotional campaign materials in ELEVATORS? How about the ads I see in toilets? Do you call that Toilet Marketing or Restroom Marketing? Just curious!

Elevator advertising really annoys me along with the advertising on the "Guide" of a satellite provider. I can't even change channels without being advertised too. My question to you is where does brandable space stop and privacy begin or is this a venn diagram now a days? It's complete BS.

They now have adverts in GPS systems (when you stop at a stop light obviously.) Luckily you can still use the bathroom without being advertised to (at least where I go) but it's getting pretty darn close. Don't even get me started on product placement in tv shows.

I guess the trend for this is catching up. They call it visual marketing. They put posters and fliers on elevators, bathrooms, posts, for passersby to see and hopefully, read. I don't think you can completely rely on this kind of advertising because you have no control of your target market. There may be some sales, though.
