i think there are more cheaper way to advertise your business rather than billboards. though billboards are pretty effective too. But it only takes weeks or months. Use internet marketing for much better results.

Billboards are usually 3-6 month contract or even a year. and they go over 2k a month. For that i would wrap a vehicle like a can which cost about that but a one time fee.

I think it would be cool to figure out a marketing campaign around the idea of QR codes.

Depending on budget it could get really fun.

Elsoft is correct. Every business is different and every market is different. Billboard/tv/radio/print/etc... can work or not work well in some markets depending on what your business/service/product is/are. To vague of a question for anyone to truly answer with out having more information about what is your do. I had a marketing firm (and still maintain a handful of client) where I used many advertising mediums for my clients; don't forget your message is just as important as the advertising medium you will be using. Billboard might be great in your market for your type of business, but if you have the wrong message or way too much on your billboard it's not going to work. Different advertising mediums work when used correctly. If you are wondering why I don't have my firm anymore; it's not that I don't, I just decided to focus on text message marketing for now, but I still have a handful of clients I consult for. Be consistent with your message. If you don't know what you're doing, attend some of your local chamber of commerce mixer/meeting and meet a marketing consultant/firm and see if you can afford to hire them. BUT please do not just do billboard/tv/radio/print/text messaging for the sake of just doing it; if you are going to do it, do it right. Hope this helps.

If you are set in your mind for billboard/radio/etc.. call them up; set up a meeting; and have a really in-dept meeting about what you do, what you offer, who your target market is, who your current customers are; are those the customers you really want? if not, why are they coming to you; if they are the customers you want, why are they coming to you and not your competition? Find what you're doing right and how to increase that. Start thinking of a monthly budget you can truly afford; don't say "I don't have one yet," because you need to know what you can comfortably invest in your marketing campaign every month until you have established your "BRAND." Branding does not happen over night; you need to understand that. If it did, every business would make millions; it's the ones that understand branding, plan for it and stick it out; they are the ones that succeed. 3 things i tell my clients they should have when using any advertising medium: Reach, Frequency and Creative (Copy/message). Reach the RIGHT people, not just a lot of people. Frequency, the amount of time your message will be heard/viewed by your customer(s) and message, what it is your are saying and how you are saying it (your message should be tailored to the market you are reaching and the advertising medium you are using). Example: if you have a kick butt message, great frequency, but reaching the wrong people, then your campaign will not work.

I hope this help. Good luck with your business

The primary and most important benefit of marketing is brand recognition. Marketing strategies help to imprint a brand in the minds of customers. marketing enables it to retain its customers. This is essential so that the brand does not lose ground to products that newly come into the market.Marketing a product is the best way to provide information about it. The salient features of a product or service is what is used to market the product.
