    Cheap lead generation ideas?

    Hi guys,

We are not a lead generation company, but lately were asked by clients to help them not only with creative but also with some cheap led gen. (Well, whatever we do for ourselves is not necessarily that cheap).

For example our latest client is a software company.
Relevant software related keywords are not cheap.Their organic search is not strong yet, but it's not our headache as we don't do on-page SEO. Telemarketing seem to be dying. Print ads for unknown brands is a waste of money.

Does anybody want to share some very inexpensive ideas for affordable leads generation (and I mean under $5 per lead).

More unique they are, more appreciative I can be

I know one directory. It’s a business directory that allows you to access contact information of executives in different companies. I use Jigsaw regularly for my sales leads. It’s been a very useful source of information for me. You too may be able to find relevant information there.

If you want to generate solid leads for your company you need to attend tradeshows and get the contact information of whoever shows a remote interest in your product or service...they are your best leads. Not only do you know they are interested, but when you follow up (even in a year), they will remember seeing your company there and be more likely to do business with you than if they just get a random call from you.

Tradeshows range in price from $400 to $5000 for a 10' by 10' booth, but if you get thousands of leads at one, it is well worth it.

    Cheers,
    Brian

    Dear Adsensetion,

In regards to effectively generate leads for your clients, it all depends on exactly the type of response they need vs. the cost of their product.

Since your example is for a software company and lets assume the cost of the software is $49....a cheaper route to generation might work, as opposed to a more expensive route. Hence using the cheaper route they may need to convert only 5% into sales to maintain profitability.

If using the more expensive route, the closing ratio may need to be 17%.....thus more sales need to be made for profit.

In addition, lead generation can be done through various means....opt-in email marketing, display advertising, video pre-roll/post-roll advertising, text advertising and etc.

Thus, to get to the nuts and bolts of generating good leads for your clients is not a smiple 1-2-3 answer.....its important to know their expectations and what route would have the best return on investment.

Feel free to contact me direct for further discussion.

All the Best to you and your business!

Ways to Generate low cost qualified leads

There are a number of ways to generate low cost leads. And like Samir Delgado said, a lot of it depends on more specific needs of your client.

    Here are just a few:
    1. For REGIONALLY TARGETED clients use LOCAL SEO, it is actually free if they do it themselves. Have your client register their profile on Google Places, local Yahoo, Bing Business Portal, and as many of the other local sites as possible. In conjunction, add an offer on their website that will attract their prospects to give them their contact information for a... whatever, white paper, limited trial of the software, whatever. The more value, the more info they can request. Then they can set up each of the prospects on a sales campaign, either by email (autoresponder) or phone, using marketing automation.
    2. For NATOINAL or GLOBAL clients,
    A. Use General SEM tactics like SEO or PPC and the Free Offer/Marketing Automation described above.
    B. Use SMM tactics that include fan gating to collect a database of prospects then use the Free Offer/Marketing Automation described above.

BOTH 1 & 2 ARE SLOWER MORE ORGANIC MEANS OF GROWTH, BUT THE LEADS ARE BETTER QUALITY, BECAUSE THEY ARE SELF QUALIFYING.

    3. A more cold call style is to use EMAIL MARKETING. The general problem with Email Marketing is that you are generally required to buy in at a large amount and volume of emails. Axciom & InfoUSA are two of the big players in this market space. You are able to segment the email targets by almost any demographic. I will tell you, however, that B2C is much easier than B2B in this effort mostly because most Businesses have their email spam filters locked down pretty tight, while the ISPs that most consumers use have agreements with these data/list providers.

Now my commercial, Wallace Hagler Marketing Associates offers all of these services, come check out what we can do. Ok, I'm a little surprised that no one else has mentioned this yet, but STRATEGIC PARTNERS and JV's are a great way to generate leads cheaply (or at no cost).

Here's a couple of questions you can ask:
    1. Who has my customers already? -what businesses are similar to yours that you can leverage off their database? (you'll need to have something to offer them in order for them to do a J.V.)

    2. What products/services would compliment my products/services? -contact those businesses and offer to give them a slice of your profits on a "commission only" basis. Some businesses will have a database and you can even set up the email for them to send and everything. One email out to their list probably isn't going to hurt their list (especially if it's relevant and useful) and if they get a cut they'll probably be happy to. If you're selling them online, you can make them an affiliate, or you can setup ad tracking or a separate domain etc so that you know where the leads come from and how well they convert.

I could go into this a lot more, but I think you get the idea. Find businesses or products/services that will compliment yours and then offer those people a commission on any sales they refer.

Just make sure that you have something good to offer :-)

    Hope that helps.
