    Business Cards

Is giving out business cards still a good way to market your product or company? Is it still essential?

For startups it gives you some traction, credibility and first step of commitment. A business card should be merely an extension of your brand

Business cards are an inexpensive, and professional way to exchange brand and contact information. I think business cards are essential and I
never go anywhere without having at least a couple of my business cards in my wallet.

Absolutely !! I just attended a seminar and we discussed business cards. When you go to a networking function, it is imperative to have business cards. You should be ready to hand them out when introduced to someone. Also, adding your photo to your business card is a unique idea. It is a good way for people to remember you. Plus, when you receive a business card, it is a good idea to write down a couple facts you learned about that person on the back of the card.

its a sign of reliability.. also, create online business cards at places like card.ly and link them
in your website, send them to your twitter, facebook, linkedin etc friends

also, that's a fast way for someone to archive all your details for further communication

They're also a quick way to insert a call to action into somebody's hand. Offer 10% off one item in your store, or a coupon or free online report in exchange for giving them your email address on your website. Print it on the back of the card. Now your card is more memorable, because it GIVES them something - and it will bring you more business.

I love to keep a few business cards one me, they can be useful for almost anything! But the best advantage is letting somebody see how professional your company is. If you are giving out business cards i recommend that you always try and use a hi status for your position within the company, something like partner is a good one to start with if you don't own it. Just make sure to ask for the owner's permission first!

Giving out business cards really is a great way to market your product/company. As others have mentioned above, it is always great to carry a few with you at all times (you never know who you may run into) to pass out. Be sure not to leave them lying around as you would a flier, distribute your cards with meaningful purpose.

It is still a formal way of introducing yourself and your company. A nice business card would give an edge to any business. A business card is so simple and discreet and yet, it is still a powerful marketing tool.
