    Building a client base

I started a business which leases point of use water coolers to business'. Our product is great and we have a small client base, and all are very happy with our service. My main problem is I'm pretty much running this business alone right now and I'm finding it very hard to get new clients. Of the clients I do have, once I am able to show them our products and the amount of money they will save with our coolers they are pretty much all sold on signing up with us. I just really need an effective way of actually getting my foot in the door with new companies. I've tried going to sell in person but honestly in most cases the people who I talk to aren't decision makers and they just say they will pass the information along and I never really hear anything back.

Would direct mailing flyers be a good idea? I've tried some cold calling with mixed results. I know our business offers a great service it's really about just getting to speak with some decision makers and showing them our product. Any ideas from you guys? Thanks

Ok... wow I have so much information to give but I will try to be as specific and precise as possible.

First of all, Are people actively looking for services similar to yours? If companies are actually looking for a service like yours, I would recommend using Google Adwords with a direct response website.

If the situation is different, for example you can save people money in a way they wouldn't expect. Which basically means they would not be looking for your services because they don't really know they exist. If this is the case I would use direct mailing, however there is a lot to learn about direct mailing and copy writing to ensure you get a good response.

I would love to give you a free 15 minute consultation over Skype, where I could ask you a few questions, discover more about your situation, and provide you with the best possible advice and action steps possible.

If you would be interested just send me a message.

Well here is the thing about my business, it is a type of service that almost every business uses. We do drinking water, so pretty much every business I come in contact with has drinking water for employees, whether they purchase it on their own or have a company deliver water jugs to their office. Our water coolers are plumbed into a water line and use filtration to purify the water therefore reducing the monthly cost for the user and creating less hassle on their end(ordering water, replacing the bottles etc..) So I would say we are a type of business people actively look for, just think about how often you see water coolers at any type of business.

I have been highly considering doing direct mailing, yet am not sure how effective it can be. How many should I send out to start? What is the average amount of people who will reply vs. simply just throwing it away? I haven't really thought about Google adwords either. I guess maybe that is worth a look as well
