    Brochure and Flyer Design

    Back!

Long story short - we decided, somewhat haphazardly, to try out a television commercial. $1,000 later, and no discernible effect, my original plan for print advertising is back on the plate.

Now I have two quick questions for you all:

    i. What are the pro's and con's between going with an individual contract vs. a bid.

ii. How does the consultation process work? Is it as simple as: "Here is the general theme" and we go from there? Or do we also try and custom tailor the message, etc? Just wondering what the design company does aside from.. producing a design!

    Yours,
    Hunter

Stop in your tracks!!! Stop Stop Stop!!!!

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Do you want to make money from this? do you? I am assuming you do.

Do not go to a advertising firm or consultation company, biggest way to waste money!

oh and I wouldn't bother with tv advertising, unless you have multi millions of dollars to throw at it.

Nope if you want to make money you need to do direct marketing, through print advertising or direct mail.

And if I was you I would learn how to do direct marketing and how to write copy!

This is coming from years of experience.

Now if you want to learn how to really make bang for your buck, I have access to a few courses, which are the best way to learn how to market your business and make shit loads of money.

I don't want to say how to get them in public, so if you are interested, message me and I can show you were to get these courses!

They will change your life, and will make you more money than you ever thought possible through advertising!

    Answers to your questions:

    1. With bids, you have options - both in terms of budget and quality of service.

    2. See what the particular vendor offers,if you like it good.If not work with them to tweak it a bit to suit your taste.Service Providers do like working with buyers who involve positively.

Regarding the promotions, since I own a press release service. If you are interested let me know.It isnt expensive and results can be significant.

Either way I wish you the very best in your business.

Advertising is a tricky thing. Though I will say, as a general rule, advertising firms will cost you some serious cash.

In my line of work, we trade out our goods/services for things like advertising. I just got $3700 worth of radio spots, and it cost me hardly any cash. I was able to increase my company profile, and so far it hs paid off with over 70 hits to my website in just 48 hours.

This is something you might wanna consider.

feel free to email me at dave at utxtrade.com if you would like to know more....

A good advertising firm is very expensive.

Being in a business in the art industry I know.

But I must say do you know how to make a great design for brochure and design?
I just finish mine, even though I know how to design, I went through 3-4 people to get the wording right, and getting opinion on the design from designer friends.

What's great to you might not be the best for the audience and your target.
So opinion and getting people that know and specialize in certain area is a great help toward a greater success.

I would say if you don't have a budget for a firm, simply ask around for opinion and tips.

One of the reason that a great ad company is expensive is because of all the creative mind and talent, and the research for the certain market is done already and available to help you with your ad campaign.

Remember quality is the different from a 5star meal and a cheap take out.

I think it's much wiser and cheaper to use online marketing over television ads. There are sites where you can negotiate deals with freelance designers. They can help you design websites, email templates, or banner ads. Its best to approach these sites with a clear vision of what you want already so you can provide info about what type of people you are trying to target or what type of image you would want to represent your brand.

    Dear Hunter,

If you haven't already done so, I suggest you meet with a PR specialist. You can find a reasonably priced firm either by asking for referrals or by contacting your local Chamber of Commerce. Chamber members are talented, driven individuals with the business skills you need - and they offer them at reasonable rates. Remember, Chamber members are small business owners just like yourself.

A PR specialist can help you establish your message - - what you want to say and how you want to say it. If that message involves advertising, your next step is to contact an ad agency / designer. Again, start with referrals and your local Chamber. The agency you select should familiarize themselves with your company and its products before your initial meeting with them. If they haven't done so, cut short the meeting and try another firm. They should also be willing to listen to you and to solicit your input before beginning design work. Your advertising campaign is just that - - YOUR campaign. It needs to reflect your style, values, and the direction you're taking your firm.

Be sure to establish a budget before meeting with either a PR or an advertising agency, and be clear in communicating your budget constraints to them. If they're unable to do the work you're asking for within the limits you've set, continue your search. If the responses you receive from multiple firms are identical, you'll need to rethink your budget.

A design firm should be able to provide you with a visual campaign that clearly communicates who you are and what you stand for. The design should seemlessly integrate with all other communications between your firm and your target audience - - including your company ID, logo, stationary, website design, advertisements, etc. etc.

Listen to this advice. Picking up a book about copy is the best thing I've ever done for myself when it comes to marketing. Learning how to write headlines and sales letters has increased my conversion by large percentages.

Combine this with direct mail marketing and you will see an actual increase in sales/profit/whatever. Yes, it sounds archaic and old, but it works.
