    Blog for the purpose of Adsense revenue??

    Hi guys

    Some of you may cringe at this post, but I'm thinking about creating my own blog page, and promoting it through SEO tricks that I've learnt from the company my business works with at the moment.

    I haven't decided what the blog would be about yet, but I have access to a lot of good content writers who can provide me with unique articles/content daily.

    But this is the thing, my sole objective would be to create revenue from Adsense, and hopefully generate a steady income from it.

    I'll be using wordpress I think to set this business up.

    I'm sure there'll be lots of views on this idea, and I'd really like to here them.......good or bad!

    Hoping this generates an interesting discussion

    Thanks

    I have about 17 blogs like this and I generate most of my revenue from them. Not just from adsense, I monetize in a lot of different ways.
    If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
    If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.

    Made-for-AdSense (MFA) sites will only work if you are putting quality content onto the sites. You need to keep in mind that despite the fact that you might know a lot about search engine optimization, the quality of content still matters at the end of the day if you are planning to grow this into a sizable business.

    Thanks for the responses

    Wayne, you're right on, content is the most important thing, I will be keeping this in mind at all times and only approving the best content to appear on my blog(s)

    Aletheides, could you elaborate on how you make you income, and maybe give us an insight to 1 or 2 of your blogs.

    If you'd rather, feel free to PM me

    Thanks

    My sites run on wordpress blogs - I've found handling SEO is way more easier with this CMS.

    Do keyword research, make or get unique articles created around each keyword, build links to the article.

    Monetize with Adsense, EPN, Infolinks, Amazon or even build a list and send offers to that way. There's a lot of different things you can do.

    I use Market Samurai to track my rankings. It's also a decent tool for keyword research and checking competition.

    Making money online this way is definitely pretty slow because it takes a long while before you'll get decent rankings but once you're a year or so into it its very stable and passive.

    I have a blog that I am using to make money with Adsense as well as Commission Junction. They have access to many affiliate participations with many companies. I will look into them as well as Amazon to help make some extra cash.

    Blog + Adsense is a pretty common business model but as w3bmaster states, it requires massive traffic to earn a decent income.

    Why not try other monetization methods like creating an e-book and sell it?

    Try to get your visitors to subscribe to your blog (using squeeze pages) so when you get your e-book ready, you can sell it to them.

    Some good responses

    I think I plan on doing the following:

    * Create a blog through wordpress
    * Use getafreelancer.com to have wordpress designed in an attractive manner
    * Submit relevant articles to the blog daily
    * Incorporate adsense, info-link and Consumption Junction to the blog

    What do you guys think about expired domain traffic to gain a steady line of hits to the blog?

    Any views on this?

    Adsense haven't made me much money because the click thru rates are below 0.1%. I had a dating site for adsense where when I changed Adsense to rotating banners, the click thru rate went from 3 clicks per 1000 visitors to normal 2-3%.
    Then I was thinking to put Adsense to my blog that maybe it will perform better there but nothing much. Within 6 months I have had one click there.
    It's practically zero also in my Free Directory where I have 50-70 visitors each day.
    Some are claiming that if you write your posts exactly to optimised for Adsense, this could make better results but I'm not a prostitute for Google.

    Hoping someone can help with this one - I'm now struggling with deciding what topic to base my blog on

    I have a few ideas:
    * Movie Reviews
    * DVD Reviews
    * Gadget Reviews (My favourite)
    * Electrinic Reviews

    Although the competition for these topics on Google look fierce!!!

    It has been suggested many times that I base my blog on something I like, but in utter honesty my life has revolved around furthering my online business over the past few years. This has been my passion and priority. Its said that I can't really think of anything else i've been passionate about. I don't want to write about the business, I want it to be a seperate venture

    Any advise on how to move forward on this?

    Thanks

    I'm not a pessimistic person but I can honestly say that if you picked any of those general niches you'd have no chance in hell.

    You need to niche more, get specific.
    If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
    If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.
