I would prefer to promote such links via article marketing and video marketing just because people are always searching for advice, how-tos and tips online and articles on established article directories like Ezinearticles can rank very well on search engines. These tips that you have written can then be published in video format on popular video sharing sites. Of course, video sharing sites will be the best channel for promotion if your niche is a bit on the trivial side.

You're doing it the wrong way in my opinion. You should use a landing page as opposed to simply redirecting (what you called 'forwarding'). A landing page allows you to get backlinks, get into google, and explain the site more. Otherwise, your backlinks all go to the site you're promoting, you can't get search engine traffic, and they are suddenly sprung upon the item you are promoting.

Well if you're hoping to get traffic from Google I'd suggest the home page and a maybe 3 or 4 pages of extra information you don't expect others to read. All pages should link to the home page. The home page should be a fairly simple, appealing layout and describe why the person needs the product you are selling, what it can help them do, or why they should buy it. It's your chance to pitch your traffic.

After you have this set up, you should build links to your home page with the anchor text being keywords you hope to get. Focus on 1 or 2 keywords at first, easy keywords, and build backlinks for those. Slowly you'll see progress in your site. It's always hardest the first time so don't get discouraged when you don't sell sales coming right away.

Just google landing page template or something and you'll find some examples. I don't exactly have a great example in mind that I have a link to.

Wayne is right on this. Just write tons of articles and include your domain name in each of your article's bio and submit to ezinearticles.com

Your domain name will have a high page rank overtime and when you start getting some sales, it's time to put an opt-in list to start collecting your visitor's email to build a strong list so that you can sell to them forever.
