How about sponsoring a community event in your local neighborhood. another option would be to start a direct mail campaign. Be sure to make it stand out though. Do something that's different than the norm, so that when your potential customer sees it, it speaks to him instead of it ending up at the bottom of the trash can.

I know it has been done before a few times,but it is rare that people advertise like this,and I wanted to give instructions on how to do it.The second link you posted,is proof of how effective this method can be. IDK how much they spent to project it,but 40 million people heard about it. So much money could be made from a website with adsense and a good CTR,and you put a sexy logo with your url on it,then project it onto a building like that.
