It got me a few hits for some niche websites, but none of it really turned into quality traffic. I have had a lot of success using it for affiliate programs though.

Depends on the niche, but it can be useful.

Yahoo Answers nofollows their links, but I've noticed that some of my answers have gone to copies of Yahoo Answers on smallbusiness.yahoo.com, and those links back to my site are not nofollowed.

So you may gain some link value from it in addition to any direct traffic/exposure.

My view of Yahoo Answers is similar to forum posting and link sigs - not much if any SEO value, but it's free marketing that can lead to targeted traffic, so it can't be a bad thing.

Yahoo Answers is great but you need to know how to use it.
Some people say they use it to help with backlinks but this doesn't make sense to me since their links or no follow.

So there may be some SEO value after all - but this may change.

I paid someone $5 to answer all questions regarding proxies with my premade answer that listed my proxies. There were over 100 questions. I still receive hundreds of visitors from the answers. The account that made the answers didn't get banned. In face, it was promoted to Level 5.

    Post Yahoo Answers

If you use it regularly and patiently definitely you will get good traffic.

I am using this from past one month and I got Awesome traffic to my site and there is no need of paying money on yahoo answers.

I was thinking about doing this with an affiliate site I have... glad to hear it worked out well, I think I'll go ahead with mine too.

    $5 per answer?

It will only work only when you know how to play with it.

Absolutely no SEO benefit of rankings or in bound links. But if people are impressed, they may link back to your site with their site.

You use Y! answers for the link baiting purposes since it is full of catchy phrases and pitches.

    Thank you

I've gotten some dofollow inbound links from smallbusiness.yahoo.com because of Yahoo Answers that were syndicated over to that section of the site.
