Smile What "Tools" Do You Use??

Hi Ya'll,

As evidenced by this particular discussion board....we've all come to understand that the internet is an important aspect of how we do business today in the Network Marketing industry.

With that in mind share your thoughts on what internet based "tools" work and don't work. Where possible give examples and/or reasons for your recommendations.

This should be an ongoing thread with continous participation....and a foundation of the Internet Based Home Businesses discussion board.

Discuss start page/exit page exchanges, PPC, safelists, FFAs, autoresponders, classified ad sites, message boards, email leads, search engines & directories, ezines, ezine article submission sites, web conferencing, fly-in ads, pop-ups, email blasters, video emails, custom messaging, url tracking, webmaster tools, contact tools, marketing tools, or anything internet based or web managed.

Please .... no personal links you can benefit from if another Member decides to "purchase" or "sign-up".

I'll throw out a few to get the juices flowing:

GOOD TOOLS......

Here are a few tools I like to use for keyword research and article publication.

Keyword research is so important. Your site should have many pages each concentrating on 1 or 2 keywords tops. Deciding what keywords to use should be something you spend some time researching. It is amazing what you can learn with some keyword research. I use the free Google AdWords Keyword Tool to get a seed list that I plug into Wordtracker or Keyword Discovery. These tools are not free but will take your seed words and expand upon them. Sometimes you will discover awesome relevant keywords that have a high KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) meaning many people search for the term but not many sites contain the term. The higher the KEI the better. Generic terms that have low KEI can be very hard to get ranked for. I like to find some better terms and write pages optimized for those terms.

I have really become fond of publishing articles using Article Marketer. The advantage of writing articles is that you can add value while getting links back to your site. It is so important to gain 1 way relevant backlinks to your site but if all you want is to sell sell sell you will not get very far. You have to offer something of value, become an asset to your community. People do not want to be spammed they want information. Writing articles is a great way to contribute something of value. You can write top ten lists, how to's, or anything informative. Every article you publish has an about the author section at the bottom. This is where you can talk about yourself and what you do. You can add a link to your site as well. Article Marketer offers a free account and you can get some decent exposure but it is not that expensive to become a member and get exposure to over 3000 article directories. It sure beats publishing them by hand and I generally start getting Google Alerts soon after each article get published.

Just a few ideas. I hope it helps.

Good choice Jetgrrl. For additional resource, I use Google Analytics and Statcounter to check my keywords and traffic result, then it helps me analyze what's the next thing to do for my site's improvement.

I've been marketing lately on facebook and the results were amazing.
I am looking for freelance designers interested in selling their work online. So facebook turned out to be a perfect place...to market my website.
