If you write quality articles that contain good helpful information you will find that more people will start coming more often. Once you have gotten the word out that you are a site that people can rely upon to present them with good information then you will build a following. You can perform all the Search Engine Optimization in the world, but unless you are giving people what they want it won't matter.

I tested out a strategy that I read on here, and that was to write a quality articles then let the blogs in that field know about it...

I tested it with the finding a niche blog posts, and my traffic went from an average of 50 uniques a day, to 132 today.

I will be testing again to make sure it wasn't just a fluke.

Write good content, share your links on social sites. I.e digg etc.

Digg definitely helps if you write quality articles. If you don't the Digg community will kill your site.
