    Video Marketing with You Tube?

How can we make use of You Tube as a video marketing tool? Is there success rate in using this? Most often, I just see spam contents and comments on these video sites and low grade videos.

The first step is determining who your audience is. They may or may not be on YouTube. They might be on Vimeo or Blip.tv or Viddler.

Then, remember the platform isn't always the key to success - content usually is. Just because a video is on YouTube doesn't mean it will or will not be successful. It depends what the video is about and how it is presented.

Picture worth a thousands words?...how many words is a video worth?

Videos are very effective. I personally feel all businesses need some form of visual content other than images. You know the old saying a picture is worth a thousand words....well if that's the case, how many words is a worth? check out Business Marketing – Powerful Solutions for the New Economy ‹mybusinessmarketing.org to learn more.

Hell yes you can! My blog traffic typically jumps 1000-4000% with a new video post... if I wasn't so lazy you'd think I'd be smart enough to keep adding videos!

Thanks for replies. The best way to make it successful is to produce quality videos with quality contents. There are a lot of videos in YouTube that are junks.

Video marketing is very powerful and your video can get a lot of views. Quick tip. Make sure you always put a link to your website in the beginning of the description of the video. This way you get more people who watch your video to click to your website

Of course your video has to be attractive & creative, and most importantly search friendly, related to something that is very often searched.

Video is a great way to promote, but it has to be done correctly when using You Tube. It can't be just a straight forward commercial. Video Blogs are having some great success right now. The key is consistency and offering valuable info to the viewer. Instead of just talking about your business create a video talking about the benefits of your product/service. Pick one topic a week or more (at least a minimum of on a week) and give the viewer great advice. For instance of you own a Tire Store, make a video talking about tread life and how to inspect your tires to see if they need to be replaced. Something like that. As far as quality of the video itself, if you wanted to invest in a fairly decent camera to record it all the better, but if you are starting on a limited budget and only have a low quality webcam, that;s ok too, if the content is good people won't notice the lower quality of the video. It's all about what you are giving to the person and the benefits the are receiving that matters.

Good feedback so far, but I will try my best to add something of value. I would not post a video to only YouTube. You can post the same video to multiple video sites for increased exposure. As well, the links to your website from these videos are very valuable in terms of helping your website's SEO.

YouTube should be a part of everyone's marketing strategy, but it may be a very small part for some and not others.

Another way to use a video would be to post one to your Google Places profile for your business. This would add a nice, professional touch.

I think Youtube is very good for marketing.
However make sure you shoot the video professionally
It may cost a little more but i believe it is worth it.
have opening and closing titles, keep the video short.
If you are in it, make sure you are dressed appropriately, and you read professionally and with conviction.
If you are reading from an auto cue make sure you have practiced prior to the shotting.

    Hope this helps

Actually one other thing, while there is a view that having your video ghosted on youtube actually helps with views and traffic, i personally prefere you host your video off your own server.
I think its looks more professional

YouTube offers a new way to connect with readers and followers, but there is a different aspect to it. Google crawlers are able to find videos and photos more easily than plain text. Thus, by having more videos on your website or blog, Google is able to find you easier. Videos that contain links back to your site are also very helpful.

One thing to do, is to add YouTube videos to your blogs that complement your subject matter.

If you have a blog, try doing a podcast or video blog and syndicating the content to other sites. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the tip.

Are there other video viewing programs other than YouTube?
