Recently we have been using Traffic Exchanges in order to get our hits up at Symbiote Studios. Although we are getting more hits we are not increasing product sales. I was wondering if any one had a suggestion on how to increase sales for toys/collectibles on the web? Below is how we currently advertise.

1. Trade Magazines
2. Related Sites
3. Traffic Exchange
4. Production Blog
5. Forum Posts
6. Box advertising at retail
7. Affiliate Program

What am I missing in order to increase product sales via the web?

Hi jreiter, look what I did to increase sales :
I googled 'opt-in email advertising' and tested each week the companies I found there (used the first ones listed on that page) and got a lot of traffic, but the sales did not increase too much. Acceptable results I got for taketheinternetback.com where I paid 5000 emails for $55 and got not only traffic, but also some sales. I searched alexa.com for stats, and it seems that most of the traffic on this website is US based, so it would make sense to use it in my case.

What about your copy? If your copywriting sucks then no amount of traffic is going to convert... If you are writing your own copy here are two tools I would suggest looking into:

All traffic is not created equal. For example: Although making posts on this forum may bring some traffic to my Fitness website - it is poorly targetted because this forum is entrepreneurs, not fitness enthusiast. That's why this is a forum I visit for personal use, not for business advertising. For targetted business traffic I post in fitness and health forums.

Target traffic, be exact on what kind of target audience your links are bringing in. Just because you get X hits per day from so-and-so link dosen't mean any of those mean sales - unless they are targetted and those hits are people who have a genuine interest in your field.

You need targeted traffic, not random traffic from traffic exchange. Try ppc

For sale? I guess PPC shoudl work for you. Use the right keywords which can get you quality traffic. All the above suggestions should work for you. Apart from them, get rank for your keywords in the search engines. To get fast rankings, create some general videos and post them on to different video submission sites. Good luck
