I figure that what are presented above as the 3 steps of Marketing is seen from a Graphic Artist/Designer's point of view..

I am from an Art background myself(I no longer design professionally though) & I am well aware from an artist's perspectives too..
And also because of my Business background, my defination of marketing is completely different..

Marketing is the process of adding Value to your target audience & Reaching, Retaining & Regenerating them to achieve Profitablity in the long term..
In order to do that, we need to consider about:
    1) the business Nature & its Offerings..
    2) the Customers'(including employees) Needs, Wants & Perceptions to the busines's nature & offerings..
    3) Long Term, indepth Profitable business Strategies & Systems under specific & different favourable Internal & External Conditions & Opportunities to create & add values to those perceptions..

Maybe those are my 3 steps..

I have always wanted to ally with designers to create a synergy for both the creativities of art & business together to create & implement sellable solutions, result-based strategies that adds to the bottomline & the profits of business owners..

Through these, we can add more value to them & in turn can create an uniqueness in us & can look into premiums in our business..
    Still looking..
