Promoting your business with networking events and groups

Has anyone here had really significant positive results going to networking groups or events to promote their business? What advice or tips can you give me about how to go about doing it? Networking etiquette? Thanks for the help.

I have had some success doing it. Another option I use is speaking at local civic events. Such as the Lions club or something like that.

Just be sure that your presentation is value driven and NOT a sales pitch. For example, when I speak about marketing I speak about the client's image and how much a great image is worth and how much a bad image will cost the company.

Never once do I sell the audience on my services. If my presentation was engaging and solved my audience's problems then the sales will come naturally.

Does this help?
