We are planning on doing a press release for one of our projects upon completion. There are some questions I had regarding a press release. First off, what are some ways of finding a marketing firm or PR Group which has plenty of media contacts. Offcourse a very important part of Press Releases is the amount of quality contacts a firm has, for this reason I wanted to know how can we as a company find a local firm which has the best track record?

How could we find the prior press releases a company has done? Is it simply by research and calling or is there some sort of a rating scale in the industry? Also, I was thinking of dealing locally because local firms have greater contact with the papers and media in the surrounding area, is this a logical inference to make when it comes to PR?

Any other tips would be appreciated!
