Just launched a "green" website that I think people will love, how do I start to get the word out??

I have been working on a website called FreeYourFootprint.com for the past 3 months or so, this is my first attempt at a website or any kind of business. I think it has the potential to go big because it offers a service for free that actually makes a difference in the environment and people's lives, but i don't know where to start! I have a facebook page, squidoo and am starting a twitter, but past that I really don't know how to get my target market's attention. I'm hoping for the viral marketing effect to set in eventually but for now I know I need to be very proactive. ANY feedback or tips would be greatly appreciated, I have been reading through these forums for weeks so i know how great of a resource it can be, thanks in advance for any replies!!!

Wow. This is a good awareness site. However can I recommend you to have some of your About Us text on your index page.

My rational is simple. The moment I dropped on your site, I want to know what's your site is all about. Do explain about the game also in the main page. I have no clue what is all about and why should I answer such question.

People may also not click your Google Ads once they do the tests.

Do look into your strategy again.

OK here's some marketing tips.

The kind of business you have here require proposals. You don't just mass market, definitely you'll miss your targets. Do a write up and send it to relevant agencies on environment to tell them what your site is about.

Since you are already on Facebook. Create a group about Planting Trees / Saving Trees / Clean the World, etc then scout for people who has the same interest to join that group. Definitely there are other groups that has the same causes as you, you can recruit them there too. Or do group collaboration with the other Group admins.

Other ways, create a sub blog on your site. And let people know how much you have earn and which and which tree has been re-planted. Take photos and put them up too.

I'd like to help - who are the people in your Target Market? Really getting to know who they are and where they are will help you reach them easier and more effectively.

Have you done any SEO yet for your site? Have you written any articles?

I'm not selling anything yet, after it gets enough traffic i would like to add an e-store. I am paying for the carbon offsets (planting trees) through using google adsense and because trees are very inexpensive when planted in developing countries through a not for profit it makes this concept possible. Thanks for the suggestions so far, keep them coming!

In reply to bizinaboxx questions, yes I have done some SEO through my website developer but more work is needed. I have had some articles written that are featured in the "green articles" and tips pages, is there any way to use this content to get my site seen by more people?
