You will need to optimize your website so that it achieves good search results (in Google, Yahoo, etc..)

If you're targeting visitors in your vicinity... ie, in a specific geographical area, it will make the optimization process much easier and you should be able to achieve good result... obviously depending on how competitive the online market is for you industry.

Try joining forums and adding it to your signature. Add your website to your signature in emails and text messages. Good luck. Google search how to promote my business. You will find an abundance of information.

Your are right craiglist in your area will help. Try usafeeds as well. Google for free classified ads.

You can do it yourself. Write articles about your products, write press releases about yoru business news, submit those to your local publications, you'll get free press and hits to your website.

Inclue your website address in your forums posts, make sure your website uses keywords and approrpiate page titles so for example if your products are targeting local buyer, make sure you have there somewhere your city/town mentioned etc. You can also buy Google's ad space but it's costly

Write articles on blogs, contact free hosting websites about sending out a newsletter and offer to pay them (that happens to me often and the results are good), craigslist, ebay, myspace, digg, facebook, sponsor wordpress theme, write ebooks and give them away free with your links!!! There are a million things to do, and yes I do send out advertising emails to my clients so if you are interested contact me.
