Twitter is one of my favourites. you can reach millions of people and is just great. You can google *fashion designers on twitter* or something and get people and business partners using twitter. I also love the idea of your site, When do you think it will be fully operational?.. i cant wait. I will twitter about it on my twitter so it would be good to post a link about someone exactly on twitter, the power of twitter is enourmous.

    Haha thanks
The team is currently working on it everyday.. and we dont have a set day yet but I will make sure to keep everyone up to date on the status of the website. I also have a Stylejunk Twitter page but I havent started following people yet.

CalebHQ: What do you mean plant a flag on the site?

Thanks everyone for the tips! Keep them coming
So far I plan on using Facebook, Twitter, Google and maybe different forums like YE and others like this

Besides Social Networks is there any other way I can market the site?
    Please and Thank you

mmm twitter is basically good but not impressive as everyone is throwing out links with eyes closed... Facebook is much better .. Bayut Dubai property portal not throwing out links like people does in twitter.. I would give my vote to facebook.

You could try using YouTube as a marketing tool for your site i think that could work well for clothing and would cost a very small amount for some good visual exposure.

Everyone is right on the money on this. Social Networking is probably your focal point. Facebook and Youtube are great marketing tools.

I would also try partnering up with clothing companies, and see if they're willing to have a link to your website on their site. In return, you profile their their company on your site.

Well right now we are working as fast as possible and are looking at some time in January... We are doing the best we can but we also want to make sure we do a really good job on the site.

Thanks for everyones input. Besides social networking, is there any other way of advertising? Is there anything I can do physically in the real world to help promote this?

Thanks everyone for the support I greatly appreciate it.

Very truly said You tube is one resource now where you can market your product with visuals and by links too.

I would recommend starting with SEO, especially that you are building your site now, it's important to get everything done right from SEO perspective (site's structure, urls, etc.) Social media afterward.

Good luck! I think it's a great idea!

I'm getting ready to launch a new website (any day now) and read your post with interest.

I've been using Twitter and discussion boards to start generating interest prior to launch. I'd never used Twitter prior to starting my marketing campaign but found it easy to find my target market and start following and attracting followers. http://twitter.com/preneuraholic

Also, I've got articles written and ready to submit to article directories. I've used article submitting campaigns before and they're great.

I've had phenomenal success with the good old fashioned press release so I plan to do that again. I emailed to local newspapers and prweb.com and had reporters, photographers and even tv shows call almost immediately. And that was for a little children's retail shop. Nothing particularly interesting. You should try it.

BTW, your website looks like it's going to be fun and interesting. Can't wait to see it.

I dunno about selling clothes online. I would think that with fashion, a person still needs to be able to see the item in person, feel it in their hands, and try it on to see if it fits them and looks good on them.
