Getting more E-mail Sign Ups
My team and I are developing this free online sports game.
We're looking at aggressively getting more e-mail sign ups on our website so that we can mass e-mail once we launch. Currently, we have around 4000 e-mails but we're trying to hit the 10k mark in a week.
Do you guys have any ideas that has worked for you in quickly getting a load of sign ups?
We're already on Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, and yes, we're also running a contest on Twitter. Any other ideas ?

Give something of value away for free in return for their opt-in.

If you want to go at the speed, you need to JV and share profits with people whom have large databases. Let them do the talking for you as their lists of people already trust them.
Don't buy emails. Waste of money and people will just hate you for that.
Have you tried bloggers to write about you... Give them a trial run. If they like it they will talk about you.
Try out with your local press! They would always want news. People always forget about offline marketing.. Try those too.
