Finding New Clients
Hi guys
I would like to hear what you guys think. I'm a young professional graphic designer, I specialize in custom web graphics. But I'm finding it a bit difficult to find new clients. I've just recently updated my website and added new services and features, but still haven't had a lot of new clients.
What you do think I should do?
See ya

Maybe I can help here..
Before I begin, shall I check with you on these:
Who are your customers?
What has you done or has being doing to attract them and address their concerns?

Hi inle
1. Who are your customers?
My customers are website owners who need professional graphics designed for their website. This can include anything from ecovers, headers and footers, banner ads, logo design and illustrations. So my target market is basically anybody with a website that needs professional graphics.
2. What has you done or has being doing to attract them and address their concerns?
I have advertised my services on Forums. I created an affiliate program that people can join. I'm in the process of doing a Press Release. I'm also going to try and use Google AdWords to advertise my services.
Hope this answers your questions.
Thanks,
Bronson

This is how I find my clients. I have had great success with this method and I pride myself in being able to generate more new customers in a week than most other people can in a month. Here is the secret to my success:
1. I make a list of specific companies I would like to do business with at the begining of each week. I gather as much information I can about that company along with contact information.
2. I CALL them. yes I know, it unheard of but I actually pick up a phone and try to have a conversation with an actual person. I don't buy adwords, I don't spam forums, I don't social network; I use all the information I gathered at the begining of the week and I schedule an appointment to meet with my potential client.
3. I go to my customers instead of waiting for them to come to me. I explain what I can do for them and show them the ROI for working with me. I build a face-to-face relationship.
4. I do everything I promised and I concetrate on customer service. I keep in touch, I keep my relationship and when my client is 100% satisfied, I ask for a referal.
That is how you build your business and find customers. Want to seperate yourself from your competitors? Go out, shake hands, and make a real life impression. I promise you, if you do the 4 things I listed, you can double your business every year. For every 10 people I call I turn one into a customer.

Dannybranded: Good insight..
That's proactive in action..
Bronsond: More Questions..
1. If your customer is everyone and you are doing mass advert, how are you able to address about their concerns?
2. What's so UNIQUE about your offerings? Why your business? Why YOU?
3. What value/benefits can you add to your customers? ("I will get them a website/design/logo" is not a value or benefit, but a mere feature of your product)..

Hello Dannybranded
Thank you for the advice. But I only operate online and not offline, so I cannot meet my clients in person.
See ya

Freelance sites are something that I tried. It works but the pay is usually minimal compared to the work that you have to put it. I would try looking up seo techniques to get your website in the top 10 rankings for your specific location. You should also try social media marketing like facebook, linkedin, and incompany.com.

I very much believe in the Pareto Principle..
20% of your customers can get you 80% more income through referrals.
Since you have already an existing base of client. I suggest that you develop a Referral System. I would believe that each of your client has their own networks and would have their own clients too.
Hence build a rapport with them closely and ask them if they would recommend clients to you. Give them a small cut perhaps 10% of your total revenue per project and they will definitely be happy to help you out..
Try this out. You will definitely not run out of work nor clients..
