DVDs effective in Business Proposals..?

Okay, here is the scenario:

I am running a website that advertises a certain business in several crisp ways on their own little page associated with my website. Besides having a 8-page bound booklet, sales letter, and a few other things we are thinking about making a DVD which captures and records our desktop moving throughout our webpage and explaining via microphones.

Do you think this is an effective idea? or no should I scratch it?

I think it would be very effective. A visual can really help people and would give you an edge, a sort of value.
