I just signed up for it and I think you can use it as a way to get the word out. If you attain a lot of followers then it can become a sort of free publicity...

You can also search what other people are "tweeting" about. Then you can start to follow them once you find people interested in the same subject as your business.

Please don't just sign up for Twitter and start tweeting out ads for whatever you're selling – there is WAY too much of that going on already. Sit back and read what others are writing about, join the discussion and offer helpful advice and friendly comments. Only once you've shown yourself to be a valuable PERSON should you offer whatever you're promoting. And only send out self-serving tweets every four or five non-sales messages.

    Otherwise, you'll quickly be branded a "Twitter-Spammer."

There are a lot of good resources on the Web about using Twitter for business. Here's one I like: Twitter for Biz – Free Report | Small Biz Bee

btw - i use Twitter. Apart from the fact that our app actually uses Twitter (users can create reminders through twitter), I also use it for customer support and tracking mentions of our product

Twitter is an awesome tool for growing your business! I use it to tackle a variety of micro niches and drive traffic to whatever product launch I have going on. I also have my main account where I do all my relationship building too.

Keep in mind, Twitter is NOT a social network. It is more of a springboard than anything, sending traffic here and there. It also helps to know what topics to speak about based on what topics are hottest on twitter search.

I plan on doing some tutorials on Twitter this summer, but until then this is the next best twitter leverage training I've found.

I think twitter is an awesome tool for marketing. It allows you to engage followers with interesting content. The key is not to try and sell to them, the key is to build relationships through good content. One way I do this is through twitpare.com. It allows you to create polls on Twitter to engage followers, start discussions and help build your brand. By getting people to comment on your content, you spread your brand virally.

I use a company called Ad Cause to buy traffic on Twitter. It's a pretty cheap way for lead generation.

    Check it out at:
