Thank you Usman for your input. I'm glad to see that some people managed to actually stay on topic with the original post. Im sorry but does anyone else find it slightly annoying when you post a topic trying to get legitimate advice and then someone out of the blue hijacks your post? Like its actually kinda rude.

And to the statement that a website isn't a legitimate business and that anyone that has one doesnt have the guts to start a real business...There are several websites that could outperform a brick and mortar business in a heartbeat. You need to realize that for the most part, if you are lacking a web presence, then you are missing out on a lot of potential customers.

And further more to the statement that web businesses are created by high schoolers with a "get rich quick w/o any work" notion, this statement is just so unfounded. It may be true that some kids think like this, but anyone that has actually run an online business knows exactly how much work actually goes into making one. Not the easiest thing in the world

I use to do these deals with websites called endorsement deals which basically worked by asking a website who owns a customer list or email list to send emails or brochures to their customer base with a sales letter (plus a way to track order unique order number or tracking id) of your companies recent offering. The endorsement sales letter would contain your new sale or item and because the list trusts their owner the subscribers are very likely to buy.

Now when the customer uses the coupon or click the link to buy a service the owner of the list would make so much profit. The owner would usually ask for so much profit (example 10 or 20%) which when given to enough subscribers can equal a lot of money for both you and the owner of the list. I know your situation is different because its brick and mortar business but if you could adapt this concept to your business the potential to make money is high:

Customer list is targeted to people who want home improvements (hardwood flooring)

Conversion rate is high (readers to customer)

New profit for you and the owner of the customer list

Offers can be re-done to access more customers.

Think of the potential of such a technique just working once or twice. I hope you liked this.

This might sound really ridiculous, but what you could do is sponsor the flooring of an establishment that you believe your target market frequents. Then add your number and logo to the flooring so that they can contact you.

Win win situation, they get free flooring and you get advertisements. what do you think?

Remove common words, such as "a, an, in, on, it, of, etc." Remove every word that does not absolutely need to be in the ad. Make every word count.

A great, inexpensive way to get your name out there and keep it out there is to sponsor local sports teams. I sponsor a few soccer teams in the area around here, have my name on their jersey, in their team name, etc. It has provided great exposure for my business and I look forward to sponsoring more and more teams in the future.

You may ask mr. Google. He'll help you on that matter. What do you mean by a "different site" that might "help you more".

I thought that the domain above would be pretty amusing and therefore more likely to be remembered. I noticed that the .com and .net had been taken though.

Vehicles, posters, business cards, flyers, website... Loads of ways of advertising, just gotta find the methods that will work for you and for your target market.
