Hi, You could always put a link to it in your signature
I'm starting a blog soon hopefully, I don't think I'm going to market it untill I make at least 10-15 posts though
What's your blog about? Are we allowed to have a link?
Hope it goes well,
Nath

Well that is true...but i want to know about some peoples marketing strategies. Like what else can be done besides writing good content and submitting to those social bookmarking sites. How would you go about creating a marketing strategy?
Edit-
Just reading up on some marketing strategies and came across video marketing. Does anyone think that video could potentially create a viral buzz for blogs? Is this a viable solution at all?

Best blog marketing techniques
Blogging is a hot topic. But not everyone understands the value of blog commenting or blog comment posting. Essentially, you see a blog post you like and you write your comments on it. Did you know that there are profitable benefits in doing so?
1. Indirect Visitors
2. Backlinks
3. Build Your Credibility
4. Improve Your Website's Ranking

write something outstanding - create some controversy (but do not cross the line), that should give you some good traffic

It is easy to make a list with the necessities for good SEO. The key to get visitors to your site is doing those simple techniques on a higher frequency than your competitors. No matter what sector you are in, trust me that at least 20 companies using the EXACT same methods as you will(at your best) with SEO. So frequency is key.

Optimize the blog:Template optimization - RSS subscription options, social bookmark links, HTML code, Unique title tags, URLs, Sitemap
- Add helper plugins
- Create keyword rich categories
-And Press releases are also an excellent way to market your blog.
-Comments on other blogs are also a very important aspect of blog marketing.

These are all great ideas. What are your thoughts on contacting several companies in your niche and getting them to link to your blog.
Lets say that you have a blog on gardening for example. It might be wise to go to several gardening supply sites and talk to them and have them link to your blog in exchange for doing some product reviews or product launches.

Agree with most comments here. Try social media marketing. Make a lot of contacts and go on from there....

I want to optimize my blog--I wonder if blogger offers that of if I can figure out how to add it in the code? Hmm..
For me, it's also taken time to promote my blog ( Ramen Noodles, Rent and Resumes) and overtime, it's done well. But yes, it's promote, promote and promote! Especially if it's business, you've got to market it!
