Question B2B Marketing any ideas?

I have a sign business in the NY area and I'd like to hear ideas anyone might have for B2B Marketing. We make all kinds of signs including neon, architectural signs, banners, graphics, illuminated signs, lettering. Almost any sign you can think of. What would the best form of advertising be for this type of business?

Determine your target market and approach those businesses directly.

Yeah, Im having the same dilemma myself. For myself, calling them up has been the best way to go for it.

My target audience is relatively the same kind... I've had fair amounts of success with: Postcard Ad Mailings to local companies and startups (using salesgenie.com for lists). Also you could go the more traditional route: cold calling, sales calls and general pavement pounding.

But honestly the best thing to do is really sit back, analyze your target .. what they're problems are and how you can solve them. Then convey that message in whatever type of ad you do, whether its email ads, website landing pages, yellow pages ad, post cards, or even door to door sales.

Possible Idea:
Drive around to various businesses, find the ones that look like they need signage... and if possible take a picture (may need ask for permission first) and do a mock-up of what their sign will look like when its actually on the building/sidewalk/etc. Its a good motivater when the client thinks the only thing left to do is make payment / contract / etc. Alot of people have problems like signage and other 'minor' things and they're just not pro-active about it, but if its delivered on a silver plate for them - its much easier to pull the trigger.
