Any medium to large companies looking to creatively expand their market into the Omaha, NE area?
Hey all - I am new here but I have an idea that could be mutually beneficial for your company and myself. I am a college kid attending business school at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and I am looking at doing a bunch of side projects to expand my experience with a wide variety of odd jobs/marketing techniques. I hope to eventually own my own business but before that I feel that I need to get experience in a lot of different aspects of business.

This is my marketing project that I am hopefully going to put in place.

A snapshot of Omaha's demographics
* Omaha’s population is nearly 843,000 within the Greater Omaha MSA and more than 1.2 million people live within a 60-minute drive of central Omaha.
* Approximately 15 percent of Greater Omaha’s population consists of minorities.
* More than 35 percent of the population is 24 years old or younger with a median age of 34.9.
* The median household income is $57,850 -- more than 10 percent higher than the national average.
* More than 92 percent of Greater Omaha adults 25 years old or older are high-school graduates.

A background on who I am and what kind of people your advertising will influence: I am a 19 year old student who spends time in the Omaha metro mostly. I work for a fairly large corporation based out of Omaha and drive my vehicle throughout town regularly for work related needs. When not driving between buildings my car is parked in a parking lot where 500+ of my coworkers will see it. I hang out with people in the age group of 17-26 and have a wide range of friends in all walks of life, genders, races, etc. I attend the College World Series every single year in Omaha (this could potentially lead to 100,000s of impressions) and can be frequently found in the downtown areas near Qwest Center Omaha. When UNO hockey is in town I will park my car prominently in the parking lot in front of the stadium for every game.

If you have a strong interest in this idea and would like to put in action please PM me or comment below and we can discuss. Depending on your budget, your interest, the benefits it will supply your business, your specifications, needs, etc. I am completely 110% flexible.

The marketing type that I have particular interest in is car advertising. With this, I must say that advertisements must be appropriate and must meet my approval because I work a very professional job and think of myself as a professionally mannered kid for my age.

Basically, you would buy a full/half/partial wrap for my car that I drive on a regular basis. From there I would be willing to negotiate on compensation/activities. This is where the learning comes in for me - the negotiations and seeing what kind of marketing works.

I would be willing to:

- Drive through particular parts of town to reach your specific target market
- Visit any conferences you may have in Omaha (& surrounding areas if you compensate accordingly)
- Drive through busy areas of town to create impressions for specific events. ex. Qwest Center Omaha is one of the top 10 arenas in the World for the events that they bring to this great town, the College World Series brings in hundreds of thousands of tourists every year including nationally broadcast games on ESPN/ESPN2
- Contact local media and attempt to get them to do a story on our project
- Create viral videos that could be promoted via Youtube! to further this initiative into the social networking-scape
- Social network in any creative way we can come up with to further your investment
- Drive a particular amount of miles around town
- Anything possible that would help your return on your investment
- & more.

I am NOT doing this to make loads of money. I am doing this for the simple experience of what takes place in marketing. I am open to ANY & ALL ideas if you have better or more creative forms of advertising in the Omaha, NE area.

Compensation
We are looking at anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000 a year depending on your needs in compensation + cost of the car wrap (& maintenance of the car wrap).

For reference I could either drive a 2000 Dodge Caravan or 1996 Nissan Maxima. If these do not fit your image/needs we could discuss the costs associated with me getting a new vehicle to represent your company in.

Don't let the $50,000 scare you. That would be buying me a car that you would prefer I drive, driving out of town for conferences, spending all day at conferences/expos in town, etc. That is an all-inclusive cost there.

Please let me know if you have any interest in my services.

I like the pitch, but you'll have a tough time finding a company that will shell out $50k to an individual. Build a corporate presence around your venture, charge a reasonable buy-in for 6months worth of advertising at a time, and offer other incentives and opportunities (Napkin holder ads in restaurants, billboards, etc).

The best way that I've seen this done is with a large SUV (preferably a Hummer H2 or H1). Draw out a chart of all of the 'marketable' space on the vehicle. Split it up into various sections, and charge a set amount per section. The rate will change depending on visibility, space, etc. In essence, you're doing to a Hummer, Escalade, or other such high-profile vehicle what advertisers do to Nascar vehicles.
When you get it portioned off that way, you'll end up making even more than the 50k that you're wanting. On a Hummer H2, you have between 22 and 35 possible "zones". Starting cost for a smaller section is $1000 for the first three month (an introductory incentive), then $500 per month under contract after that. Companies wanting big flashy ads will pay for multiple sections (which you will give to them at a discount). Either way, you can clear approx. $22k during the first 3 months of ownership, then an additional $100k for the remainder of the year. As the money comes in, buy additional vehicles for your city, advertising trailers, or vehicles in other major cities in your region.

The big advertisers now are alcohol companies, musicians, etc. Let them know that you'll have the vehicle outside of clubs every Fri and Sat. night. Talk to some of the strip club owners in your area, and get them to buy advertising. Throw some parties and invite all of the big business owners, promoters, etc to hang out, then give your pitch. More or less, make it an investment into a BUSINESS. Right now, you're just coming off as a 19 year old that needs someone to pay for his car!

Do you have a website I could check out? I am open to almost any type of business except things that would reflect a negative image upon myself in a business setting... (ie. strip clubs, alcohol, drugs, cigarette companies)

Lol- the 'negative image' business categories that you listed are the ones that pay the most for advertising.
