Sounds like a lot of work if you ask me. If I wanted to work for Google, I would move to CA and get all of the real benefits.

thats what I was thinking, you earn some quick money, and spend time building a business instead of working for someone else...

Yep. It will also be great for making local contacts and when you walk in the door representing Google, people might actually give you a few minutes of their time.EX. " hi, I represent Google and we want to bring you more business for FREE! Just let me take a picture and well post you business on Maps." Who's going to say no to that. GENIUS!!!!!

Interesting for someone who's in need of a little part time cash.

What if the person walks into a business and ends up submitting information that Google doesn't need? Would they still be paid? If not, it seems hit or miss.

The idea is of course finding out the night after you win the slot what areas google needs. I am aware of roads in my region with strip malls of 12 stores each or maybe 200 businesses in a small space. I would have no problem hitting 200 stores in a day for a $400 payday plus a hope of an additional $1600. I can't imagine doing this more than 3 or 4 days before the market would be saturated. This definitely calls for a trip out the first day you get the job, take all the photos you need in days 1,2,3 and then don't do it again. Let some poor schlub clean up later.

Of course, I don't know how many of these strip malls have been catalogued by google already. I may find out that when I run a check to see what area to do first, that I have a very limited area near me that's left to cover.
