Just an observation, but I hope your son's grammar is better than yours. How can anyone know what the future will hold for your son? It is up to him, now he is of age, to mould his own destiny and make his own decisions - I had to!

A parent should motivate and encourage, the child should feel confident and empowered to make their own choices -sound choices. A child should do the research and make sure when choosing a career that's it's one where they can get a job to be able to take care of themselves.

Be a good dad. Ask him what he wants to be.

Well most of the kids at his age has no idea. I wanted to be entrepreneur only at 19 but didn't know where to go, before that I was just studying and being a good student. heh.

Ok I guess you need to expose him to entrepreneurship...If you really want him to be an entrepreneur, get him to read books about it. If he dont get it that's it lah...

Here in Singapore, my mentor runs a program about entrepreneurship for kids. Already at a young age, my mentor is teaching this kids the values and the reason to start a business. Well its not just the money but also pursuing a greater purpose. Probably to help and industry grow and create more wealth not for yourself but also the community. At the end of the day, they must decide themselves.

So probably you can find such courses in your area.

He needs to find himself what he wants to do. Encourage rather than Refrain.

So what do you want to do? Have you explored your strengths and weaknesses. What can you do and what you cannot.

I suggest try interning first. Learn the culture and how systems work. It will get you ahead faster. Also business is also about networking..Working for someone can lead you to several useful contacts. Its who you know that counts.

Control your own destiny. Give him the advice to join YE and he can ask the questions he values and seek out the correct path.

You should let your son choose for himself. He will not end up happy in life if he is steered into a career he doesn't want.

I was "advised" to choose Medical Career when I was like 8 but when I grew up, my Dad saw my love for internet and advised me to take subjects relative to my interest.

Therefore, I advise you to not force your child into any career. All you're going to get is stressed and failure career.

Get your son to finish college

Then he can decide for himself after college
