What is your biggest mistake in Internet Marketing?

Hi all, my biggest mistake was spending money I didn't really have on adsense before I learnt anything about it. I just went for it and wasted a heap of money.

I kinda did the same, I learn alot from trial and error but it can often be costly. I took some courses with Online Marketing at BCIT and learned that there is alot more to the picture then you think. If anyone is interested PM me, I got tons of marketing .PDF's that will explain to you how to find your niche market.

My biggest mistake is not adding new content. I have two sites with great potential (one has a lot of visitors and the other makes really good CPC)

I've done everything right on those two except update them. I'm just too busy with real work, but i know if spent an hour a day for the next 6 months updating them they would be self sufficient to the point where i could make some decent residual income from them .

My biggest mistake was initially not keeping close enough tabs on the advertising finances and have a too loose of a budget set up when launching the business. Live and learn, I also had a few issues with QuickBooks initially.

My biggest mistake was not starting sooner than I did. I read all about marketing and didn't do anything for several months. Now I make my living in Internet Marketing and I love it.

My biggest mistake was waiting to long to find a mentor or thinking I could do it without the tools used by professionals.

Must Haves:
Keyword Research Tool
AutoResponder
Link Tools (cloaking, tracking)

Whether you go out and find free versions of these tools or not...you need them and you need to learn how to use them.

For example:
What good is a keyword if you don't know how many people search for it or how much competition is on that keyword?

What good is a website that cannot capture leads?

What good does it do to check your traffic stats and not know if anyone is clicking on your links? How can you properly test and tweak your page with out knowing whether or not more people are clicking through?

Just my $0.02

Onwards and Upwards,
Justin Brooke

My biggest mistake was to focus on a product and not the system behind the product.

It is very clear to me now that it's difficult to leverage a product without making it into something its not. However there are many ways to leverage a system and then get product sales on the back of that.
