I read somewhere that when search engines are crawling and adding sites to their databases it checks to see when the website was last updated. Would it be good practice to upload my index file every day to keep it listed as updated?

Also on a side note I am very happy to say that I have some great keywords showing up within the first 5 - 10 listings on Google and yahoo, I had never came even close to that. Also this site is partly to thank.

I don't think just uploading your index page again will do it. I think the spiders are actually checking for updated content. So adding daily news or updats would work better.

if nothing on your site changes, then the bot dosent need to upload to change a file. It's version of index is the same as long as the index you upload is the same. Your not changing the site when you re-upload a file that is already on it.

So no, that won't work.
